I suspected that Enniskillen had figured the absurdity of the human path. There is a profound attachment to a human destiny. He was very blunt with the way he noted his feelings, which I interpreted with great sadness. I had hoped somewhere... Now, I have to do without. How should I have reacted when he stated, "It will take many civilizations to pass. Perhaps, then, there will be strength for a change"? But he said it in such an upbeat way, only to expose my hope as a selfish ambition. Doing without hope does sound heartbreaking, but words have their way. Later on, I discovered that hope is that feeling of moments lived in the past, and the mind is merely attempting to restore the setting that produced the feelings. But in truth, doing without hope is an ambiguous path; freedom from self (self-addiction) and perhaps emotions are rewired. But true freedom is then formed. Read more
